SPIKE
The Robotics SPIKE course is designed for kids ages 10-12, whether they are new to robotics and programming or passionate about solving problems, LEGO and being creative.
What kids will do:
-
Build real robots using motors and sensors to make them move, sense their environment, and perform tasks.
-
Learn Scratch Programming: Use Scratch, a beginner-friendly coding language, to program and control the robots.
-
Explore engineering and mechanics: test and learn how key parts of robotics—motors, sensors, and structural components—work together to make robots function effectively.
-
Take on exciting challenges: race robots, solve fun puzzles, and create robots that can complete specific tasks autonomously.
-
Develop problem-solving skills, test their own ideas, collaborate with classmates, boosting teamwork and communication skills when finding creative solutions.
NOTE: The course is divided into two levels:
-
SPIKE Step 1: For 10-12-year-old kids who are taking the SPIKE course for the first time.
-
SPIKE Step 2: For students who have completed SPIKE Step 1.
To continue after completing SPIKE Step 2, simply re-enroll for the SPIKE Step 2 again - each season, we offer a new program with different robots and challenges, providing your child with a higher level of learning and development throughout the course, so your child will always be learning something new and exciting!
Once your child turns 12, you can enroll on to the Python course for more advanced programming skills.
Registration is now open for the MAY-JUNE 2025 semester!
Total number of classes during the MAY-JUNE season is 6. The classes occur once per week and designed for gradual and enjoyable learning.
